Katia Merten-Lentz heads the European Food and Feed Law Team practice at international law firm Keller and Heckman in both Brussels and Paris.

Ms. Merten-Lentz assists clients throughout the food chain on issues of legal complexity. She is highly regarded for dealing efficiently with issues related to innovations, such as personalized nutrition, novel foods, new additives and enzymes, new processing aids and the use of GMOs.

She also oftentimes counsels operators on marketing issues, including food labeling, health and nutrition claims and helps clients solve international and regional trade problems (EU authorization procedures, gaining market access etc).

Her litigation experience includes representing clients before national and EU courts.

Ms. Merten-Lentz has worked with academic institutions, European and national professional bodies, and commercial organizations.

Ms. Merten-Lentz is a frequent speaker at international conferences, seminars and workshops on food/feed law, and regularly contributes to food/feed publications.

She has degrees in EU competition law and corporate/business law, speaks fluent French and English and is member of the Paris and Brussels Bar.
