Giovanni Sogari is an Assistant Professor in Consumer Behavior in the Department of Food and Drug of the University of Parma. From 2017-2020 Dr. Sogari was granted with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and he carried out his research activities at the Department of Applied Economics and Management of Cornell University (US). His main research interests include healthy eating habits, sensory analysis, the sustainability of the wine and aquaculture sectors, and alternative proteins (e.g., edible insects) as feed and food.

Dr Sogari is involved in many international projects and he also a member in various scientific societies including the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation, the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA), and the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE).
