The Pays de la Loire Region
The Pays de la Loire Region ranks in the first place of France’s regions for its quality of life. It is accessible and open to France and the world. The region is also very dynamic, thanks to a dense economic network and the diversity of its productive activities.
The food industry is a pillar of the economy in Pays de la Loire and is the main industrial employer in the region. This sector is characterized by a dense network of SMEs and major groups (such as Eurial, Charal, LU, Lactalis, Yoplait, Tipiak, Fleury Michon). As the 4th largest agricultural region in France, its agricultural resources are diversified and committed (more than 360 products under official quality label). The Pays de la Loire region offers more than 60 training courses dedicated to the food processing industry, from the CAP to the doctorate, and brings together more than 2000 students and 400 researchers.
The Region has developed an ecosystem of excellence dedicated to the food of tomorrow, around efficient networks (research centers, laboratories, competitiveness clusters, innovation platforms, business accelerators and associations), but also through the Technocampus Alimentation. This initiative, supported by the Region, is led by a team of experts in agri-food subjects and business support. The services offered are designed to provide concrete help to agri-food companies in Pays de la Loire, whatever their size, their project and the problems they face.
