The determining role of nutrition in the first thousand days for adult and infant health
Senior Scientist in the National Institute for Agricultural Research (Rennes, France), Dr Isabelle Luron has more than thirty years of research in nutrition and gut physiology. Current research interests concern the impact of perinatal nutritional environment (maternal nutrition during gestation and lactation) on the development of gut functions and microbiota, and long term consequences on gut functioning and sensitivity to stress (programming). She is also conducting projects on the role of intestinal signals (from microbiota and epithelial cells) on brain functions, using the mini-pig as model for human.
